i had already been there with my sister once a few months ago but i love going places more than once so that i can explore new places and see the place in a new way. that being said, i do not like going to the same place every weekend, last semester i found myself in the castro district quite often, which i still love and enjoy going to, but i want to start exploring so many more parts of my new home.
we began the day by climbing up a hill a lot steeper than any of us were anticipating, but it would've been worth the climb even just to look at the baths from the top. i told my friends there were a few ways to get into the baths, we could take the boring, man made path or one of the more enticing, but still man made "off road"/cliff-y paths. one of my friends had some reservations about the off road paths but we all made it to the bottom in one piece, just as i expected we would! after climbing down, we crossed the baths and went through a little cave which was super cool and made your ears feel funny because of the pressure and the sound of the waves against the walls (maybe?? idk science can someone confirm???). on the way out we went over to a square of walls and climbed all over and through and in them exploring and i saw a cool graffiti piece of a little guy with big ears and no eyes titled "cave mane". after the wall spot we went up part of the hiking trail to a look out area where you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and there was a sign that said "closed for your safety" so of course i went down the stairs with one of my friends, zoe, but it was not dangerous at all.
after the sutro baths we went to Fishermans Wharf to get in-n-out and visit karl lo at work and got to go through Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not. the day was over all 10/10!!!! i cant wait to go back to the sutro baths and go on the full hike, explore more, and absorb more of the earths beauty!!
